Overview

Looking for a great and new short trek in Annapurna Region? Here’s what you are exactly looking for!

The Mardi Himal trek is referred to as one of the complete hidden gems in Annapurna Sanctuary. It used to be a lesser-known trek with significantly fewer people on the route as compared to the Annapurna Circuit Trek or Annapurna Base Camp and Poon Hill. However, it is not as off the beaten trek as it used to be before. The entire trekking takes you through beautiful forest areas to a rugged mountain landscape and numerous Base Camps.

Situated just east of one of the most legendary trekking destinations of Nepal, the Annapurna Base Camp trek lies at an altitude of 4,500m high.

Peak Season for Mardi Himal Trek

Autumn Season (Mid Sept – October – November): This is the best time to go trekking and of course Nepal’s peak season. Likewise, (March-May) is the second-best season of the year to go trekking.

The skies are clear during ( December – January – February) but it can get very cold and there is a risk of passes being closed due to snowfall.

Similarly, (May – June) is the pre-monsoon /hot season in Nepal and it can get very warm indeed. However, the Valleys start to bloom with flowers, and still a good time to trek.

The Monsoon season (June – Mid September) is the least popular time for trekking in Nepal. The risk of leeches and floods rises greatly. Leeches at this time of year in Mardi Himal are quite active due to the early wooded areas. So we recommend wearing long trekking trousers tucked in at this time of year.
